When Fakku got into publishing hentai, they chose to operate under the philosophy that hentai deserves to be uncensored, as the genre relies heavily on its artistic merits. There is precedence for comics to offer a memorable stories that overshadows sex (Goddess of the Glass and Hot & Steamy come to mind), but really, it’s the quality renderings of sexy girls enjoying their lovers that makes Japanese erotica enjoyable and arousing. While I understand the legal reasons behind censoring hentai, it is hard to ignore black bars (no matter how tiny they are, they’re still annoying) and glowing genitals. None of this is a problem for Fakku’s latest published work.

Peachy-Butt Girls offers enough treats to satisfy a variety of prurient interests. Looking for stories involving a group of women having their way with sneaky perverts? “Splash Flash Busters” and “Boob Shot!” cast a trio of schoolgirls as the sexual aggressors against boys trying to snap a few pictures. Cosplay enthusiasts will enjoy “Our Uniform Project,” in which a student wishes to please her senpai by trying on different outfits. “Swimsuit Contest Collection” fills out the last set of pages of the book with a gallery of the Peachy-Butt Girls cast in various swimsuits. Now that I think about it, there are a lot of stories that feature girls in swimsuits, be they one piece or two, and I was surprised how much I got into it. I normally enjoy the swimsuit fetish but Bosshi may have just turned me around on it. Other notable tales are “My Sensei <3,” a classic “student falls in love with her teacher” story but with reversed gender roles, “Hot Milky Soup” depicts how far a mother will go to save her daughter’s relationship, and “Childhood Breast Friend” revealed to me the notion that there are people who don’t like hefty breast sizes. I don’t even know what to believe anymore.

Whatever the theme or plot, the majority of Bosshi’s works are jovial, fun, and fancy free. There are two stories, however, that fall within a darker spectrum. “Trouble Next Door,” features a relationship born from domestic abuse. Bosshi doesn’t go overboard, thankfully, and the story does have a happy ending, but the seriousness of abuse, fleeting as it is, was as an uncomfortable surprise. “Complaint Fruit” was thoroughly depressing to me. An island girl is violated against her will by a pair of douchebags who try to bully their hapless tag along of a friend (why is he friends with them??) into having his way with the poor woman. He finds a connection with the girl, and even tries to save her from his “friends,” but the plan backfires and the two boys force him to have sex with the naive island native.

This book was my introduction to Bosshi and he has already become one of my top favorite hentai artists. Bosshi’s girls come in all sizes, from cutesy flat chested waifs to curvacious, massively endowed nymphos and nearly all sport fun, bubbly personalities. Eager to please their lovers, it doesn’t take much to get them out of their clothes. Peachy-Butt Girls is a gorgeous collection that really benefits from Fakku’s interests. Male and female genitalia are gloriously exposed, free of annoying obstructions. I have yet to see what a censored version of Bosshi’s artwork looks like (his previous works on Fakku’s website were victims of a DMCA takedown), and with the sort of scenes he likes to draw, black bars or light shafts wouldn’t just be annoying, they’d ruin the artwork.

All Fakku books come in a physical and digital format and for this review, I was supplied with a digital copy. Reading it on my iPad, the quality of the page scans were much clearer and cleaner than I was previously accustomed to. The quality was particularly noticeable with the first four chapters in the book. They are presented in full color and, well, I have a hard time describing just how gorgeous and vibrant the artwork appears on my tablet. I recently received my physical copy of Renai Sample and while its colorized chapters certainly look good, the visual fidelity of Peachy-Butt’s high resolution scans is in a league of its own.

In Summary
Peachy-Butt Girls is one of those works that belongs in every hentai fan’s collection. This is how hentai is meant to be enjoyed: pure, uncut, and free from visual noise. The only problem with the book’s quality is that is has left me thoroughly spoiled. Now I want all my localized hentai manga to experience the same love, care and freedom as this.
